Support the Movement to Leave NRS 449 – Protecting Personal Care in Nevada!
Nevada’s personal care agencies are the backbone of our communities, ensuring seniors and individuals with disabilities receive the support they need to live safely and independently.
With the recent passage of AB 519, Nevada has taken a key step toward strengthening our industry by moving personal care agency regulations out of NRS 449 (“Medical Facilities”) and into their own dedicated section of NRS. The intent behind AB 519 was not to impose new requirements, but to separate nonmedical personal care services from medical facility statutes, creating a clearer and more accurate regulatory framework.
This shift will not bring immediate operational changes, but it will lead to the creation of new NACs (Nevada Administrative Codes) tailored specifically to personal care services. The Personal Care Association of Nevada (PCAN) will be meeting with the new Nevada Health Authority to discuss how these NACs will be built and to advocate for rules that reduce red tape, protect flexibility, and preserve the nonmedical nature of personal care services.
By supporting this initiative, you are standing with us to protect personal care, cut unnecessary burdens, and empower caregivers to focus on what matters most, our clients.
Let’s build a more sustainable future for Nevada’s care network. Join the movement today!
